AJ and I met in March 2001. Not under the best circumstances; I had a car wreck on the way to visit Toni for Spring Break. But it ended up working out. Toni and AJ belonged to FBCKC SPLASH group. SPLASH was having a get together that night at Beverly Lewis's home. And the rest is history. We were married on 6/23/01. We moved to Hollister for our first year and bought a house behind SDC right around our first anniversary.
In August 2002 we found out I was pregnant with Aidan. Boy, that was exciting. The pregnancy was horrible, constantly sick. At 38 weeks I was induced for preeclamsia. What a wonderful delivery. But we got a strong, loud little boy out of it. He is everything you would expect out of a first child. Very strong willed. We keep telling ourselves that God made him this way for a reason and it will benefit him one day. He's a spitfire with a temper. He can't be peer-pressured into anything, which we know will benefit him. He loves to please people and has the biggest heart for his friends. He's smart and can remember the slightest details. Which is good and bad, depending on what he remembers!Life stayed busy with the 3 of us. We knew we wanted more kids and in 2005 we thought we were ready. God had other ideas. It took 9 months and AJ and I deciding to stop trying to get pregnant. God has a funny bone. We put our house up for sell the same weekend I found out I was pregnant!
This pregnancy was completely different. I felt good, didn't gain any weight until the last 4 months, and felt good. I was induced at 39 weeks since we were living so far from the hospital and everything went smoothly from there. Until right at the end when Gavin decided to come out bottom first. A breech delivery isn't fun. He wasn't breathing at first but he did take his first breath on his own. After a helicopter ride to ACH and 2 days in there we got to bring Gavin home 4 days later happy and healthy! At 11 months he had his tongue clipped so he could move it around. And on 12/26/08 he will have tubes put in both of his ears. He is currently taking speech to help with the tongue delay and not being able to hear accurately. At his latest pediatric appointment it has been confirmed that we are treating him for asthma. Despite all the medical problems he is a very happy healthy little boy. He will be taller than Aidan. He is a very laid back, go with the flow child except when you offend one of us. He takes up for each of us and will get on to the offender. It's quite funny to see this 2 1/2 year old getting on to AJ. He loves life and loves to play ball. His natural ability with it astounds everyone who sees it. To us it's just natural since he wants to do everything that Buba does. He loves life and wants to experience it all. He's very loyal to his playmates in Sunday school, although cousin Jordan will beat us up from time to time.

Now we are a happy family of 4. I don't think we're done adding, but for the time being we are content with the boys. They keep our life full and exciting. I never knew boys could be so.... Boys. Full of energy and ready to fight at a moments notice. Aidan is in kindergarten and loving it. Gavin goes to an in-home day care. AJ is buys with church leading music for the youth group, playing bass on Sunday mornings and helping with the youth group. I work at an insurance company part time and enjoy my time off with the boys. I'm a lone female in the thick of testosterone. But I wouldn't have it any other way. Life w/o My Boys. I don't think so!
